DETROIT, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- Supporters hit the streets trying to gather votes for Mike Duggan in front of the state office building at Cadillac Place.
The problem is the former head of Detroit Medical Center announced last week he's no longer in the race to become Detroit's next mayor, even as a write-in candidate.
But, these supporters may get their wish.
Duggan will announce Friday morning whether he will re-enter the race.
Thursday's rally comes nearly a week after Duggan announced his withdrawl from the contest.
It happened a day after the state appeals court denied Duggan's request to be put back on the ballot.
A judge removed Duggan's name after he filed his petitions two weeks before he marked his first year as a Detroit resident.
That violated the city charter.
