WESTLAND, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- Westland firefighters remain on the scene of an early morning blaze that not only destroyed two businesses, but, also claimed the life of one of their own.

29-year-old Brian Woehlke perished in the fire that destroyed the Electric Stick pool hall / restaurant along North Wayne Road.

Woehlke vanished after the roof collapsed, but, investigators tell TV20 News it’s not clear what killed the 10-month veteran of the department, or what started the fire.

Woehlke is the first Westland firefighter to be killed in the line of duty.
