DETROIT, Mi. (TV 20 News at Ten) --- $150,000 in financial assistance has been awarded to farmers in Detroit and Wayne County by the federal government. The funds will be used to build seasonal high tunnels or "Hoop Houses" to grow produce during the winter.
Senator Debbie Stabenow made the announcement this afternoon at Eastern Market in Detroit. Local farmers say the Hoop Houses will make a big difference.
