DETROIT (My TV 20 News at 10) - Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette, and U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz from Massachusetts announced a unique state and federal partnership Monday.
The two are coordinating independent investigations of New England Compounding Center which distributed tainted injections of a steroid to clinics throughout the country, infecting people with fungal meningitis. The tainted injections have infected more than 750 people including 64 deaths in twenty states, including 19 in Michigan. This partnership allows state and federal investigators to share documents to strengthen their criminal case against the compounding center.
