Lions Formally Introduce Caldwell

January 15, 2014 Updated Jan 15, 2014 at 12:40 PM EDT

DETROIT, Mi. (My TV20 News at 10) --- Jim Caldwell is the new head coach of the Detroit Lions, and the team makes it official today by introducing Caldwell to the media at Ford Field.

The formality of having Caldwell in Lions gear late Wednesday afternoon follows the news that broke Tuesday - that Caldwell was the team's pick to succeed Jim Schwartz, who was fired in December after a disappointing season.

Caldwell had a successful run as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts where he and QB Peyton Manning went to the SuperBowl in a losing bid against the New Orleans Saints.
