DETROIT, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- A smoke trail shows as Detroit's SWAT team launches a smoke grenade into an abandoned home in the 5000 block of Townsend.

Police and Michigan State Police believed there may have been suspects there in connection with an early morning shooting of a state trooper.

Authorities are holding two suspects in connection with a series of armed robberies over the weekend.

Investigators tell us the robbers impersonated police officers.

We have not been told the name of the wounded state trooper, only that he got shot in the leg, and is recovering.

The search continues for other suspects.
