WASHINGTON, D.C. (My TV20 News at 10) --- Ray LaHood played a key role in getting Detroit on track with its light rail system.

He came to the Motor City last week to announce a $25-million federal grant to help get the project rolling.

The Nation's Transportation Secretary is rolling into a new project: retirement.

LaHood announced Tuesday morning he is leaving the Obama administration after four years.

LaHood is former Republican congressman from Illinois.

He joined the administration as a friend of former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, and is currently the only Republican in the Cabinet.
