Wayne County Ticket Amnesty ProgramSweet Relief in the Economic Turndown
Although the program began on April Fools Day - the Wayne county Ticket Amnesty Program is not a “gotcha”…it’s the real deal if you were ticketed between January, 2002 through the end of last year. If you were tooling along – did an Ooops ~ saw flashing lights in your rear view mirror and are handed a ticket for your error, then drove off thinking OK I’ll be careful, and you move on with your day stuffing the ticket somewhere. Your ticket, and for some of you that’s plural – TICKETS – become part of the Out of site, Out of Mind realm. For others it may be that a lot of life got in their way and paying for a ticket fell lower and lower on their things to pay list after their main expenses for living were managed as well as they could be. They hope for the best and think – maybe next time. To the rescue are the 36th District Court and other Metro Detroit Court systems who are offering a 50% ticket reduction amnesty program at this point in time because Michigan’s poor economy. This program covers drivers that were ticketed for civil infractions from January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2008. What is a civil infraction? There are scores of other violations that you can check out on the county court web sites. What's not included? Payable misdemeanor and parking tickets.
