Hundreds of thousands of Metro Detroiters are expected to line the shores of the Detroit River to take in the Fireworks display, set for tomorrow ~ June 24, kicking off at 10:06 p.m. To ensure that spectators of all ages will continue to have a pleasurable time while attending this major event in the city, the Detroit Police Department is employing various measurers. Here’s the information you need know as you prepare for fun with your family & friends:

[1] Note to Parents: the City of Detroit’s curfew ordinance is in effect & you are advised to abide the rules and not drop your children and teens off and the leave. Also, because of the restricted vehicle access into downtown, parents you will not be able to pick them up.

[2] The current curfew for those 15 years old and under is 10 p.m.; those 16 and 17 years old the curfew is 11 p.m.

MISSING CHILDREN

The City of Detroit expects a large crowd for the fireworks display, City officials are reminding parents to be mindful and watchful of their children during this family outing.

All missing children found shall be taken to one of the following locations:

Downtown Area ~ Cobo Center


Belle Isle

Detroit Police Department Harbor Master Station, located on Riverbank Drive, Belle Isle, next to Shelter #8

Riverside Park / Fort Wayne ~ Southwestern District
