Sonic Youth, the '80s noise rock band that made a career of alternate guitar tunings and odd song structures, is back on the road in support of its 16th album. Critics have hailed the new effort, with one opining that the band is "still grinding at will but also laying back to take in the beauty of a quieter moment." 7 p.m., Royal Oak Music Theatre, 318 W.
