Terrible Accident in Muskegon

A tragic accident out of Muskegon County tonight. Police say a man "accidentally" ran over a tent where his family was sleeping this morning. It happened at PJ Hoffmaster state park.

Police say the man got into his SUV to warm it up at about 6 this morning but at some point fell asleep behind the wheel.

"It's just horriffic. I mean I just couldn't believe it I mean could you imagine if you were just sleeping and all of a sudden you feel this massive weight come through you car...ya know..I'm just amazed ya know he put the car in park when he did before he actually ran over everybody but um it was jsut awful...just terrible."

Investigators say the man's 5 yr old son is in serious condition. The couple's 2 yr old daughter was not injured. His wife suffered minor injuries.
