Work resumes Tuesday on building that new overpass destroyed by a tanker explosion in Hazel Park. Crews have started clearing away the old Nine Mile Road Overpass at I-75. Last July's blast destroyed the span that had only been open for about a year.

It was caused by a driver authorities claim sped, and struck the tanker
before it crashed and exploded. He paid a $150 fine. State transportation leaders are suing the insurance companies of the
drivers involved to help recover some of the emergency costs involved. The new overpass is expected to cost abouot $10 million, and be finished by the end of the year.
