It's another sign tonight, literally, a foreign automaker is getting ready
to set up shop in our area. Mercedes-Benz has been added to the list of tenants at the "Detroit Diesel" in Redford Township. 200 people would work there helping design the next generation of alternative fueled cars.

"This is huge. This is all R & D. This is high-level employees, they will
be very well compensated."

Township leaders will consider tax exemptions for Mercedes at their
October 27th meeting. The research and development facility could open by the end of the year.
