Drunk Driver Faces 32yrs

A Westland man accused of running down a Detroit woman while he was driving drunk Sunday morning is now facing formal charges. 28-yr old Jason Tackett has been charged with operating under the influence causing death; manslaughter-motor vehicle; and negligent homicide.

All together, he could be sentenced to as much as 32 yrs in prison if he is convicted.

Police say Tackett was drunk when he drove onto the sidewalk Sunday morning killing 74 yr old Franceina White as she left her church.

White is the mother of Detroit City Council Candidate Shelley Foy.
