To make sure voters rights were not violated during today’s election, Detroit’s NAACP branch offered an “Election Protection Hotline”. Members of the NAACP took calls from voters who had concerns at the polls.

Such as not having identification to receive a ballot or there name not appearing on the voter registration list, among others.

Volunteers answered dozens of calls from six AM to eight PM.

"We are there to make sure that individuals who have misinterpretation of the law or rules that are put in place don’t, as consequence disenfranchise voters. So we’re there just as knowledgeable individuals of the process insuring that individuals aren’t disenfranchised."

The NAACP also called voters to remind them to vote.
