There are five million reasons for many folks around Detroit to smile
tonight. Members of the Knight Foundation announced five million dollars in grants this morning at The Arts League of Michigan Building. One fifth of that money is going to the College of Creative Studies. It will be used to build an arts and design campus that is expected to attract 2,000 people daily.

Other recipients of grant money are the Cranbrook Education Community, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Detroit and Southeast Michigan fund for Innocative Workforce Solutions, Detroit Connected Community Initiative, and the Detroit Public Library.
