Passenger Decline

There is some cautious optimism tonight at Detroit Metro Airport. The number of passengers that used the airport fell by nearly 8.5% in
September caompred to a year ago. That's a smaller drop than airport operators predicted. July is the only other month that did not have a double-digit decline this year.

Nearly 24 million passengers passed through Detroit Metro in the first
three quarters of 2009 according. That marks a roughly 12% drop compared to the same time a year ago.
