Lawrence Tech is joining forces with several high profile defense contractors to train Michiganders in a new certificate program. Manufacturing Systems for the Defense Industry focuses on skills for automotive engineers need to succeed in Michigan’s emerging defense sector.

The program was developed in conjunction with Automation Alley and firms such as General Dynamics and TARDEC.

Officials spoke of the importance of the program and having displaced workers ready to re-enter the workforce.
