DETROIT (MyTV 20) - It's been a week since federal and local law enforcement officers shot and killed a Detroit Imam. Now, there's a call for an independent investigation to determine if the shooting was justified.
Representatives of several organizations gathered in Southfield Tuesday afternoon. They are calling for U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to look into the shooting of Lugman Ameen Abdullah. FBI Agents and Dearborn Police shot the Imam during a November 9 raid at a warehouse.
Agents claim Abdullah refused to drop his gun, and fired at officers. Critics say they want to know if the Imam was murdered.
The FBI and Dearborn Police continue their investigations of the shooting.
