SOUTHGATE, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- Students return to classes at Davidson Middle School.

It’s the first time since a 13-year-old student committed suicide in a campus bathroom last Thursday.

Investigators believe the child got a gun from a relative, and brought it to school.

Students will now have their backpacks checked before they are allowed in class, and will be screened with metal wands.

The bathroom where the student took his life remains closed.

Counselors are on campus to help students and teachers who are still coping with the death.
