DETROIT, MI (My TV20 News at 10) --- It's story time for the Pre-K class at Detroit's Golightly Education Center.

Soon, there will be two more like it.

Those are among the 46 Pre-K classrooms the Detroit Public School is district is adding around the city.

That will give the district 215 Pre-K classrooms at 70 schools that will serve more than 3,500 children.

DPS unveiled its plan Tuesday morning.

The district is already losing about a third of it's pre-K students before the first grade, and half by the third grade.

DPS parents can learn more about applying for the program at the nearest school.
