Handyman Takes Plea Deal in Bashara Death

DETROIT, Mi. (My TV20 News at 10) --- The handyman who admitted killing a Grosse Pointe Park woman will avoid trial.

Joe Gentz admitted he was hired by Bob Bashara to kill his Bashara's wife Jane. In his statement this morning in the courtroom of Judge Vonda Evans, Gentz said "Bob Bashara promised me money and threatened to kill me."

By admitting his guilt, prosecutors agreed to a second degree murder plea, with a minimum of 17 years in prison.
