Honors for a Detroit School

DETROIT, Mi. (My TV 20 News at Ten) --- Thirkell Elementary has been named the top PreK-8th grade school in Detroit.

Governor Rick Snyder, along with the U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, visited the school today as part of campaign to promote the importance of early education to help turn DPS around.

Our Jorge Avellan spoke with the school principal and a parent volunteer who greatly contributed to the success of the school.
