DETROIT, Mi. (My TV20 News at 10) --- General Motors is recalling about 475,000 cars to fix a problem with some transmission cables breaking.
The recall affects four-speed, automatic transmission Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura models made in the U.S., Canada and Mexico from 2007 to 2010.
Basically, GM says that when the cable breaks the shifter might appear to be in park when it's actually in gear. There've been four accidents attributed to this problem but no one has been hurt.
GM is notifying owners by letter when to schedule dealer warranty repairs.
