DETROIT (My TV 20 News at 10) - Governor Rick Snyder made history today as he became the first sitting governor to testify in federal court for bankruptcy.
The governor took the stand this afternoon at the federal courthouse in downtown Detroit regarding Detroit’s bankruptcy issues.
Attorneys representing city retirees and other creditors questioned the governor on his appointment of the emergency financial manager.
Snyder was also asked whether he believes Michigan’s constitution protects retiree pensions or not.
He says it’s a legal matter and will respect what the court decides.
