Wafer Must Face Death Charges

December 19, 2013

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mi. (My TV20 News at 10) --- Theodore Wafer will go to trial in the shooting death of Renisha McBride.

District Court Judge David Turfe ruled this morning that Wafer must face second degree murder and manslaughter charges for his "bad decision" that resulted in McBride's death.

McBride had come to Wafer's door the early morning of November 2nd. Prosecutors say Wafer responding and came to the door and shot McBride through the screen door, killing her.

It's unclear why McBride had gone to Wafer's Dearborn Heights home. Police do know that hours earlier, McBride had been involved in a vehicle accident.
