More than 450,000 Kidde smoke alarms have been recalled due to a risk of failure to alert users to a fire.

The Kidde dual-sensor (photoelectric and ionization) smoke alarms - models PI2010 and PI9010, are being recalled.

A yellow cap left on during the manufacturing process can cover one of the two smoke sensors.

In all, about 452,000 were sold in the U.S. and another 40,000 in Canada. They were sold at Menards, The Home Depot, Walmart and other department and hardware stores nationwide, as well as on Amazon.com, ShopKidde.com and more between September 2016 and January 2018.
