Inkheart1/21/2009
Speaking of movies...the script for one out in theaters this week came to its lead actor in a unique way. Greg Russell has more in tonight's Screen Scene. Opening this Friday is the movie InkHeart. In this fantasy adventure based on Cornelia Funke's book, a young girl and her father cause fictional characters to leap into reality. Unfortunately, a few bad characters come to life and take t dad as a hostage, and it's up to his daughter to rescue him..This story came to Brendan Fraser in a way other than a script… Greg Russell: Another fascinating story. You know… when were all kids or whatever … when youre reading these books yourself you get so absorbed yourself that you find yourself going in. Here you two are with this power you can bring them all out. Brendan Fraser: It came to my attention.. it showed up in my hands .. it was sent to me by the author and inscribed 'thanks for inspiring this character … hope you can read it to your kids.' That doesnt happen everyday in your career and I was totally flattered, read it, brilliant story in of it self Inkheart is rated PG. In the movie Underworld: Rise of the Lycans…Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy revisit their roles from UNDERWORLD in this prequel to the horror-action hybrid. Once again itS the vampires against the werewolves… with a little bit of love thrown in the middle. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is rated R and opens Friday. For Screen Scene… I'm Greg Russell.
