The battle of the sexes... It's a constant war... But what if you had an insider? In this weeks Screen scene Greg Russell previews the romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth"

The battle of the sexes heats up this weekend in Columbia Pictures' new comedy The Ugly Truth. Katherine Heigl plays a romantically challenged morning show producer whose search for Mr. Right has left her hopelessly single. She's in for a rude awakening when her bosses team her with a hardcore TV personality, played by Gerard Butler, who promises to spill the ugly truth on what makes men and women tick. The two of them get along like fire and water, but they eventually realize they have made each other better when it comes down to the opposite sex.

Greg: Both of you actually kinda learned from each other, you know, on what men think and what women think….

Katherine Heigl: Yeah, and I think that is what they are ultimately able to understand is that he is who he is and she is who she is but they can compromise a little bit and sort of meet in the middle and, you know, there's that segment, he does know about men … men what do you really want do, you want this romantic dinner with the nice wine and the violinist or do you want the girls wrestling in Jello. Well, she wants a nice dinner & he wants the Jello… you gotta meet somewhere in the middle… and you can and you do and if you reallyy love each other you do it.

The Ugly Truth is a fun date movie. It's rated R and opens Friday.

For Screen Scene I'm Greg Russell.
