In tonight's screen scene the popular children's tv show and action figure is brought to life in G-I Joe - The Rise of Cobra. Here's Greg Russell with a preview.

America's favorite action figure hits the big screen this weekend in "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." The elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos. This film is filled with action from the beginning to the end and the women in the movie can dish it out just as much as the men…

Greg: You guys can beat up any guy…..

Rachel Nichols: It's nice to prove that the girls can hold their own with the boys isn't it. You know G. I. Joe is just about guys because these two strong female characters … ah… that we had a lot of fun playing can rise to the occasion.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra also stars Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayons and Dennis Quaid and is directed by Stephen Sommers, who brought viewers "The Mummy", and "The Mummy Returns".

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is rated PG-13 and opens Friday.
