Looking to stretch that food budget? An unlikely source gives us some great advice, here’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

With the economy in a slump, families are struggling to make ends meat. Where better for healthy livings on the cheap, than a five star French chef.

Eric Repert
“It’s easy to find ways to eat for a budget, which is not too expensive, good food.”

World renowned chef Eric Repert says its all about doing what’s good for you.

Eric Repert
“Instead of buying the chicken already cut or cooked, you buy it whole. And therefore, you save a lot of money. If you want something inexpensive, you have to think seasonal.”

But how does this French chef extraordinaire stay healthy himself surrounded by top-notch cuisine all day long?

Eric Repert
“Just before I leave the house, I have a little bit of dark chocolate, a very good quantity. I leave my house around 10 o’clock and I walk the streets of NY. It keeps me in good health and in good shape.”

The bottom line says Repert…

Eric Repert
“I’m a strong believer that you can do a lot of things in terms of eating which is... you can eat butter…you can eat chocolate. But again, it has to be quantity control.”

With today’s health minute, I’m Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
