Melissa Long has 25 years of experience as a broadcast journalist. She brings the experience of producing and reporting to her role as an anchor.

Her favorite stories involve local and national politics. Just as in the old adage, 'all politics is local', Melissa believes that 'all news is local'. Events that occur nationally and internationally almost always have implications for local citizens. "It's our job to help our viewers understand how stories affect them. To me, that is one of the most exciting parts of my job."

Melissa lives with David, her husband of 27 years. The couple has two sons. In her free time, Melissa loves to play the piano, cook for family and friends and is an avid reader. She also studies and teaches Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art.
