OCSO deputy critically injured after being hit by car in Rochester Hills

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has identified the injured deputy as David Hack. He is still in critical condition in the ICU.

Police now say the car that hit Hack was being driven by a 24-year-old from Oakland Township who was on her way to Oakland University.

9:47 a.m.

An Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy is in critical condition after he was hit by a car while policing an accident in Rochester Hills on Thursday morning.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the 50-year-old deputy was a school liaison deputy at Rochester Adams High School.

He was policing a car accident in front of the high school that occurred earlier when a second accident occurred. The sheriff's office said he was then policing the second accident when a passing car struck him while he was outside of his patrol car.

He was taken to Ascension Crittenton hospital in Rochester Hills and is currently in the ICU.

The deputy is a 17-year veteran of the force.

Police have reopened Tienken between Adams and Squirrel.

8:22 a.m.

An Oakland County Sheriff's deputy was injured in a crash in Rochester Hills on Thursday morning.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the crash happened on Tienken Rd. near Adams, which is near Rochester Adams High School. Tienken Rd. is closed between Adams and Oxford West, just east of Squirrel, while they investigate.

We're told the deputy is in stable condition and was taken to a local hospital.
