Joe Pavelski scored a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner early in the third period, as the top- seeded San Jose Sharks held off the fifth-seeded Detroit Red Wings, 4-3, in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series at the Shark Tank.
