The search is over for three missing boaters, including a former member of the Detroit Lions. Gone for three days. That's tonight's top story.
Corey Smith, Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper and former University of South Florida football player William Bleakley went missing Saturday during a fishing trip.
The Coast Guard called off the search earlier tonight. A fourth boater--Nick Schuyler-- was rescued yesterday. He's recovering from hypothermia. Schuyler says their boat was anchored when a wave overturned it. He says all four men clung to the boat for awhile, but then became separated.
The Lions are holding a news conference tomorrow morning to talk about the loss of Corey Smith. Smith became a free agent last week, after he wrapped up his third season in Detroit. He was not expected to resign with the team. The defensive end appeared in 12 games last season, had 30 tackles, one forced fumble, and an interception. Corey Smith is 29 years old.
