Whalers To NHL?

Two local hockey players are one step closer to reaching the NHL. Center Jamie Devan of the Plymouth Whalers went in the third round of this weekend's NHL Draft. Devan is now part of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.

9 slots later went teammate Matthew Hackett, taken by the Minnesota Wild. Hackett was regarded as the top North American goalie prior to the draft.

Bother were among the 45 Ontario Hockey League players selected.
