Leyland Second In AL Manager Of The Year Voting

Tigers manager Jim Leyland finished second in the voting for American League Manager of the Year.

Leyland got one first place vote.

Tampa Bay's Joe Maddon was a near uaninimous winner of the award.

Former Tiger and Michigan State star Kirk Gibson of the Arizona Diamondbacks was named National League Manager of the year.
