Five first period goals set the table for the Red Wings to score their 5-2 win over the Phoenix Roadrunners Thursday night.

Scoring for the Wings were Todd Bertuzzi, Valterri Filppula, Tomas Holmstrom, Darren Helm, and Jiri Hudler as Detroit put the brakes on a two game losing streak.
