Tigers Win Fourth Straight, Division Lead at 5 1/2 Games

Justin Verlander allowed just a run and three hits in seven innings for his 19th win as the Tigers downed the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 Monday night.

Alex Avila and Don Kelly homered for the Tigers, and Avila and Jhonny Peralta each drove in two runs as the Tigers extended their American League Central Division lead to five and a half games on both Chicago and Cleveland.
