Tigers Clinch First Division Title Since 1987

Doug Fister pitched eight strong innings, Don Kelly drove in two runs, and the Tigers topped the Oakland Athletics 3-1 Friday night to clinch the American League Central Division title.

It is the first division title won by the team in 24 years.

Wilson Betimit triple home the go ahead run in the sixth inning.
