Tigers Shade Rays For Fifth Straight Win

Alex Avila and Jhonny Peralta drove in the runs, and Brad Penny and three relievers managed to scatter eleven hits as the Tiger got by the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 Tuesday night.

Avila's RBI single and Peralta's sacrifice fly drove in both Tiger runs in the seventh inning.

The win extended the Tigers's lead over Cleveland in the American League Central to six and a half games.
