Rip Hamilton to distribute holiday care packages to those in need. And the Prince of The Palace teams up with Meijer to unveil a renovated suite for children with cancer.

Wanting to do something special for children with cancer, Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince and his wife, Farah, teamed up with Meijer to purchase Palace penthouse suite 322 for the 2007-08 season so that families who deal with the illness can come to a Pistons game free of charge. The suite was redesigned as “Tay’s Town” and features unique graphical and interactive elements so that children can have a great evening. The grand opening of the suite will be Nov. 21 when the Pistons take on the Knicks, and Prince will meet with children and see the renovated suite for the first time at 6:00 p.m.

Also in the giving mood Pistons guard and two-time NBA All-Star Richard Hamilton is going to help hundreds of families in need at the Capuchin Services Center and Soup Kitchens this holiday season. On Nov. 20 Hamilton, with assistance from Feed the Children and Honeysuckle White, will donate 250 turkeys and more than 400 boxes of nonperishable foods and personal care products to pre-selected families at the Capuchin Services Center in Detroit from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

This event is personal for Hamilton as he vividly remembers the time when he, his mother and sister would go to a similar location in Coatesville, Penn. to retrieve the necessary food to put a Thanksgiving meal together.
