Detroit, MI –May 9, 2009-
Detroit residents and supporters are invited to celebrate with Tamika L. Gaines on Tuesday, May 26, as she kicks off her campaign for Detroit City Council. Campaign Gaines for Detroit will host a “Meet and Greet” for the Detroit native from 7-9 p.m. at the Renaissance Club, in Detroit.
Gaines will use this opportunity to greet supporters and challenge all Detroit City Council candidates to step up to the plate by taking a stand to clean up the city of Detroit. “Neighborhood cleanliness is a major concern for our community,”Gaines said. “I challenge all those who took out petitions for Detroit City Council to unite and clean up this city before spreading literature throughout the city.”
Gaines will be the first to follow her own advice. Campaign Gaines for Detroit will launch the first of a series of community cleanup projects from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, May 23. Volunteers are welcome to join the cleanup project that starts at the corner of Livernois and Midland and extends to Linwood.
The Renaissance Club is located at 200 Renaissance Center, Suite 3600, in Detroit. Come enjoy two powerful hours of networking and conversation with a professional crowd at the May 26 “Meet and Greet.” Door prizes will be awarded. Admission is free.
