UPDATE: Detectives have identified the homicide victim as 22-year-old Alex Ward, according to Farmington Hills Police.
Ward was a Farmington resident and former student at Farmington High School.

One man is dead and another man is injured after a shooting at an apartment complex in Farmington Hills.
The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Monday at The Retreat at Farmington Hills complex near 12 Mile Road and Middlebelt.
Police say it was not a random shooting and that the suspected gunman and victim knew each other. The victims were shot through the back door wall of the apartment.
Police say the injured victim is expected to survive. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Farmington Hills police.
