Advocates for the Black Lives Matter movement were arrested after chaining themselves to the Detroit Police Department's 3rd Precinct during a rally for Aiyana Stanley Jones.

The 7-year-old was shot to death during a police raid in 2010. The rally was to celebrate her 14th birthday.

The arrests went peacefully and six people were taken into custody for disorderly conduct.

The night she was killed, Aiyana Jones was sleeping on the couch of her home when she was hit by police fire.

Charges against Officer Joseph Weekley, who took those fatal shots, were dismissed after a mistrial.

Members of the community gathered in Pallister Park on July 20 to march in her memory, still demanding justice.
