Michigan has the 4th biggest drug problem in the U.S., report finds

(WXYZ) - The state of Michigan has one of the biggest drug problems in the country, according to a new study from WalletHub.
The study found that Michigan ranks fourth in the United States for states with the highest drug use in 2018. Ahead of them is Washington D.C., Missouri and New Hampshire.
Michigan's total score was a 55.35, and the state ranks 10th in Drug Use & Addiction, 13th in Law Enforcement and 11th in Drug Health Issues & Rehab.
Of those three categories, there were 20 different metrics taken into account. Some of those include: Share of teens who used illicit drugs in the past month; number of opioid pain reliever prescriptions per 100 people, overdose deaths per capita, drug arrests per capita, admission to substance abuse treatment services.
