An opening scene of "American Horror Story: Cult" has been cut heavily, producers said, following the shooting deaths of 58 people outside of a Las Vegas casino.

FX Network said the scene was filmed months ago, according to entertainment news outlet TMZ. It portrayed a crowd getting ambushed by gunfire.

The edited episode will air Tuesday on FX, and an unedited version will later appear on video on demand.

In Las Vegas on Oct. 1, shooter Stephen Paddock was on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino when he broke out windows and fired at a country musical festival crowd. More than 500 people were injured. The gunman died in the hotel room from where he committed the act.
