Actor arrested for DUI tells police he's Shooter McGavin from 'Happy Gilmore'

Longtime character actor Christopher McDonald was arrested Saturday and charged with driving under the influence according to multiple reports.

McDonald was reportedly involved in a single car crash on Saturday evening after he veered off the road and into a gas meter. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Office confirmed to People that McDonald was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

According to TMZ, McDonald reportedly told police that he played Shooter McGavin in the 1996 comedy "Happy Gilmore" while being taken into custody.

 

 

McDonald, who has also appeared in "Requiem for a Dream," "Thelma & Louise" and CBS' "The Good Wife," was charged with DWI in 2013 when he was arrested by police in Wilmington, North Carolina.
