‘Cute I am:’ Hospital dresses newborns up in festive Baby Yoda outfits

PITTSBURGH, Penn. -- The Force is strong with some Pennsylvania newborns.

The staff at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital dressed up each baby in its nursery as Baby Yoda, donning festive custom-knitted caps with green ears.

The infants also wore shirts with phrases written how Yoda speaks, such as “cute I am” or “merry I must be.”

The same hospital recently dressed its babies up as Mister Rogers in honor of World Kindness Day. Parents familiar with the hospital’s reputation were excited to take part.

"I said to her right before they pulled him out, I said, 'I have a guess...' We've seen them do Mister Rogers, we've seen them do like the Penguin stuff. And we're like, I wonder if we'll be in during that time,” said new parent Sean McGowan. “So, we got super lucky. And they came in yesterday and said, ‘we'd like for you to do it.’ I said, ‘yep, sign us up. Yep, we'll do it.’"

The custom caps were crocheted by a nurse who works at the Pittsburgh hospital.
