One mother is calling out a local amusement park for a particular Halloween display.

Renee Palamara was at Fantasy Island in Grand Island, New York with her family this past weekend. She noticed a projector showing video of a man stepping onto a stool, placing a noose around his neck and then kicking out the stool.

The display was out in the open and could be viewed by anyone in the park, including Palamara’s children.

“I don’t feel it’s family friendly. I had a 12-year-old with me. I don’t want a 12-year old watching it. I don’t think that anyone should have to watch that,” said Palamara. Palamara took a video of the display and shared it with Buffalo-based WKBW.

Fantasy Island says they have taken down the display since receiving complaints.

The amusement park released this statement:

“Our intent with Halloween Horror is to entertain visitors in a safe environment. When it was brought to our attention some guests viewed a scene as insensitive, we re-evaluated the scene and have since removed it. The scene occurred only during the nighttime potion of the event, not during the family-friendly day time portion.”

The night time portion is known as Fright-by-Night. It’s recommended for children 12 and older.
